The Road to Creation

Creation in the Hemel and Aarde valley near Hermanus is one of my favourite wine farms. This painting is of the winding, tree-lined dirt road leading to its fabulous restaurant and tasting room. I took the reference photo while with my dear friend Julie who regularly visits us from Scotland. It was a crisp June morning at the start of her trip and I wanted to capture the gentle but joyful promise of the day ahead.
